There are stationary scanners (e. g. cash register scanners), mobile scanners with cable joint or radio contact (e. g. building centre) as well as scanners integrated in mobile data registration terminals (e. g. parcel services).

At present there are (in addition to camera scanners) 2 scanning technologies: CCD-scanner with LED`s and laser scanner with a reflection controlled scanning beam. The essential differentiating factor is the particular reading distance: Depending on the type the operating distance varies from 5 to 200cm, at laser scanners from 10 to 1200cm. Generally the scanners can be configurated by scanning the barcodes inside the included handbook, cable joined devices can mostly be programmed via PC.

An impeccable scan (despite a big fault tolerance of the scanners) and the achievement of the requested distance causally depends on the printing quality and the size of the barcode.

The market offers a big variety of different scanner models of miscellaneous manufacturers. We would like to offer the appropriate device according to customer requirement like e. g. splash water protection or protection against falling down etc.
